Job Title:

Dedicated Personal Caregiver.

Description:

Caregivers provide compassionate care and support to individuals in their homes and communities, assisting those who may need help due to aging, illness, disability, or other challenges. Responsibilities include light housekeeping, ensuring shower safety, laundry, meal preparation, transportation, companionship, respite care, and offering guidance on nutrition, hygiene, and household activities.

You will also be responsible for delivering services with care, respect, and professionalism, adhering to the agency's policies and industry standards to ensure the highest quality of care.

Benefits:

  • Pay $18hr for experience and $16hr for inexperienced

Responsibilities:

  •  Provide companionship, friendship, and emotional support to clients.
  • Engage in meaningful activities such as talking, listening, sharing experiences, playing games/cards, and reading to clients.
  • Help clients stay connected with family, friends, and their community.
  • Provide transportation for medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other errands.
  • Accompany clients to recreational and social events.
  • Assist with planning visits, outings, and other activities, and travel with clients if needed.
  • Help with writing or typing letters and organizing and reading mail.
  • Plan trips, outings, and teach or assist with meal planning and preparation.
  • Assist clients with bathing, shower safety, and other personal care needs.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and organizing.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Care Team, offering input and suggestions.
  • Ensure services are provided in accordance with agency policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Monitor and manage supplies and resources as needed.
  • Evaluate the care program and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Follow the written care plan and ensure its proper execution.
  • Assist with basic client transfers, ensuring safety and involving another trained caregiver if required.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the Supervisor and report client observations.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, observations, and direct service hours.
  • Build and maintain positive and cooperative relationships with clients, coworkers, and others.
  • Make decisions and solve problems effectively in caregiving scenarios.
  • Assist clients with pet care as needed.
  • Maintain open communication with the Supervisor and coworkers.
  • Attend orientation, in-service training sessions, and staff meetings to stay updated on best practices and procedures.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  •  Understanding of home management skills.
  • Familiarity with principles and processes for delivering client services, including identifying needs, maintaining quality standards, and evaluating client satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and techniques for diagnosing and addressing injuries in emergency situations.
  • Understanding of clerical tasks such as record-keeping and completing forms. 
  • Awareness of others' reactions and the ability to understand their perspectives.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively teach and share knowledge with others.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Logical reasoning to evaluate strengths and weaknesses of potential solutions.
  • Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
  • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Active listening and understanding of spoken information.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Awareness and anticipation of potential problems or challenges.
  • Creativity in suggesting ideas and solutions.
  • Capability to provide thoughtful advice and consultation to clients or colleagues.
  • Observation skills to recognize changes in clients' conditions or behavior.

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear and see.
  • Mental fortitude and stability to handle stress.
  • Physical and mental ability to drive a vehicle.

Qualifications/Education:

  • Current driver’s license.
  • Proper Vehicle Insurance Coverage.

Training/Experience:

  • May require related experience.
  • Ability to be culturally diverse and accessible for clients.
